Mission and Vision
The BD-Institute’s mission is to promote an innovative Community of Practice in business winning through organizational accreditation, knowledge management, and best-practice guidance and innovation using fact-based research.
- We seek to be industry’s thought leader in understanding and enabling BD best practice and setting the path toward innovation and organizational transformation.
- We advocate the BD-CMM as the industry’s standard framework for how to achieve maturity in BD capability and be a leader in BD results.
- We bring together diverse BD functions and specialties in researching and articulating BD best practice and defining benchmarks across industry.
The centerpiece for our commitment to best practice in business winning is the Capability Maturity Model® for Business Development (BD-CMM), the industry standard for managing capability, achieving high performance across the BD life cycle, and positioning customer solutions for low risk and high returns under contract. We provide direct support and services to organizations that use BD-CMM as their framework, path, and guide for managing and improving business-development results.
The BD-Institute promotes collaboration among diverse communities involved in business development. The resulting Community of Practice includes Industry Partners, Consultant Collaborators, and Certified Appraisers from around the world that share our vision and participate in the continuing pursuit of insights and innovations in sustainable business winning.
The BD-Institute focuses on serving a global Community of Practice. Our team provides direct services, oversees delivery quality of licensees, and collaborates with our Industry and Consulting Partners. All operations are guided by a Board of Directors, whose membership reflects the breadth and goals of our Community of Practice.
